SARGA.CO – A dramatic victory lit up Race VII – 3-Year-Old Derby Division I (1,400 meters) at the Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) PORDASI National Championship 59th Series II 2025, held at Sultan Agung Racecourse, Yogyakarta, on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
As soon as the gates opened, Mayo surged forward, showing his champion’s instinct from the very first stride. Nara Eclipse from Central Java kept close behind, while P. Bintang Sakti and Tokugawa Eclipse began forming the chasing pack in the rear.
From the first bend, the race became a heated exchange of speed and tactics. Mayo ran with calm precision — steady, controlled, and leaving no opening for his rivals. The colt displayed remarkable composure in managing his stamina over the demanding 1,400-meter distance.
At mid-race, the tension rose as Mayo and Nara Eclipse fought neck-and-neck for the lead. But a new contender emerged — Suntoro Nagari, cutting in from the inner track and tightening the competition.
Just when it seemed the top two would battle it out, Cassius Warrior from Amigo Stable exploded from behind, displaying frightening speed to join the leaders. With 400 meters left, the Sultan Agung track turned into a battlefield of raw power and precision.
As the crowd anticipated a showdown between Mayo and Cassius Warrior, a surprise attack came from Tokugawa Eclipse. The Eclipse Stable (Central Java) horse charged hard along the outer track, closing the gap and threatening Mayo’s lead heading into the final turn.
In the last 100 meters, the duel reached its peak. Tokugawa Eclipse pushed with all his might from the outside, but Mayo refused to yield — digging deep for one final burst of speed. The finish line approached, and Mayo crossed first, edging out Tokugawa Eclipse by the slimmest of margins in a thrilling climax.
