SARGA.CO – The grandest horse racing stage in the country is about to unfold. Indonesia Horse Racing (IHR): Indonesia Derby 2025 is set to shake the Sultan Agung Stadium (SSA), Bantul, Yogyakarta, on Sunday, July 27, 2025. This event is more than just a race—it's a prestigious battle for the Triple Crown, the highest honor in the realm of three-year-old thoroughbred racing.
The Triple Crown is awarded only to horses that sweep all three race series in a single season. King Argentine, the star runner from King Halim Stable, stands on the brink of history. After claiming victory in the first two legs in April and May, a win at the Indonesia Derby would enshrine him as a living legend.
Jakarta Poised to Spoil the Party
The DKI Jakarta contingent enters with full force, fielding four top contenders: Wonder Land, Romeo Berjaya, Spektra Da Vinci, and Merlin Grey.
Jakarta's head trainer, Wahyu Wicaksono, issued a bold statement:
“As I promised in the interview, King Argentine will be defeated by a horse from DKI Jakarta. There will be no Triple Crown champion,” he told Sarga.co, the IHR event promoter.
Of Jakarta's four horses, Wonder Land is drawing the most attention. The filly owned by Rama Sinta Stable has impressed since her debut in Java. Although she fell short in the second leg of the Triple Crown, her performance has only grown stronger.
Owner Dedi Novaldi remains confident that Wonder Land could pull off an upset:
“Whatever the result, we’re proud. Having a horse with this kind of potential is already a victory in itself,” he said.
Hailing from Padang Panjang, Wonder Land arrives to challenge the dominance of the Javanese stables. For the first time, she’ll run the 2,000-meter distance at the 2025 Indonesia Derby.
“The farthest Wonder Land has raced is 1,600 meters. But we believe she can handle it,” Dedi added with conviction.

An Ending—or the Start of a New Legacy?
Will July 27, 2025, mark the coronation of King Argentine as the first Triple Crown winner in over a decade, or will it be the birth of a new star like Wonder Land? One thing is certain—the eyes of Indonesian horse racing fans will be fixed on the track at Sultan Agung Stadium at the end of this month.
They are the queens who rule the battlefield.
