SARGA.CO – Indonesia’s most prestigious horse racing event, Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) – Indonesia Derby 2025, is set to take place on Sunday, 27 July 2025, at Sultan Agung Stadium, Bantul, Yogyakarta. This event marks the grand finale of the Triple Crown Indonesia series, following Serie 1 in April and Serie 2 in May 2025.
All eyes are on King Argentine, the champion horse from West Java, who already claimed victories in Serie 1 and Serie 2. Suppose he wins again in the 3-Year-Old Derby (2,000 meters). In that case, King Argentine will etch his name in history as only the third horse to achieve the Triple Crown Indonesia, following Manik Trisula (2002) and Djohar Manik (2014).
156 Horses from 13 Regions to Compete
A total of 156 elite horses will compete in the IHR-Indonesia Derby 2025, with total prize money reaching Rp1.2 billion.
The horses hail from 13 provinces:
North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, South Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, Central Sulawesi, and North Sulawesi.
All participants have passed a rigorous selection process during the qualifying round held on 13 July 2025.
Premier Classes and Massive Prizes
IHR-Indonesia Derby 2025 features 18 race classes, including three flagship events:
3-Year-Old Derby – 2,000 meters (Rp300 million)
3-Year-Old Juvenile – 1,600 meters (Rp150 million)
2-Year-Old Novice A/B – 1,400 meters (Rp150 million)
There are also other categories, including Novice C/D, Open Class A, Open Sprint A, and Non-Finalist classes, with distances ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 meters.
King Argentine Faces Off Against Wonderland, Sidney Allstar, and Manik Siwa
The 3-Year-Old Derby 2,000m will be the centerpiece race, where King Argentine is expected to clash with top challengers:
Wonderland (Jakarta) – Runner-up of *Triple Crown Series 1 & 2
Sidney Allstar (North Sulawesi) – Champion of *3-Year-Old Prospective Derby 1,850m – IHR Cup 2025
Manik Siwa (West Java) – Winner of *3-Year-Old Derby 1,600m – Central Java Derby 2025
This battle promises to be a strategic and high-stakes duel on the 2,000-meter track.
