SARGA.CO – A new chapter in Indonesian horse racing history was written at the 2025 IHR–Indonesia Derby. A stallion named King Argentin has etched his name in gold as the first male horse ever to claim the Triple Crown Indonesia, the most prestigious achievement in the country’s horse racing world.
Born of champions—Agrippa (sire) and the famed Princess Missoni (dam)—King Argentin has captured public attention not only with his speed but also with his pioneering status: he is the first stallion to sweep all three main races of the Triple Crown, a feat previously only accomplished by female horses.
Before the rise of King Argentin, Indonesia’s Triple Crown history was dominated by two legendary mares: Manik Trisula (2002) and Djohar Manik (2014). Manik Trisula was the product of Swift John x Putri Solo, while Djohar Manik descended from Tuscaloosa x Mini Satria—both fierce, celebrated in their time.
But in 2025, the narrative changed. King Argentin emerged as a challenger of a different kind, proving that strength, stamina, and jockey strategy could make a stallion worthy of the highest racing crown in Indonesia.
A 2,000-Meter Track That Changed Everything
The defining moment came in the 3-Year-Old Derby – 2,000 Meters class, held at Sultan Agung Horse Racing Track, Bantul. Starting from gate 9, King Argentin didn’t lead from the start. Instead, he gradually overtook tough rivals like Wonderland, Princess Gavi, and Romantic Spartan in the final two turns.
His brilliance lay in his timing: holding back, reading the race's tempo, and launching his strike at the perfect moment. Under jockey Jemmy Runtu, King Argentin didn’t just win—he redefined the game, signaling the rise of stallions in top-tier racing.
His victory was also the result of the sharp guidance of Kusnadi Halim, owner of King Halim Stable. A subtle yet effective team order strategy, disciplined training, and smart race selection brought King Argentin to the peak of his career with grace. Today, King Argentin stands shoulder-to-shoulder with legends—not as a shadow, but as a trailblazer.
