SARGA.CO – The two youth divisions of Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) Piala Raja Hamengku Buwono (HB) X 2025 offered very different dramas. In Race IX, the 3-Year-Old Youth Division II (1,200 meters), horse enthusiasts witnessed an unexpected victory from an underdog champion.
Meanwhile, in Race XI, the 3-Year-Old Youth Division I (1,200 meters), Kana Eclipse from Eclipse Stable proved herself worthy of her nickname — the future queen of the track.
Mandoge’s victory in Race IX came as a surprise. In his previous three races, the 3-year-old colt from Winning Stable, owned by H. Indra Aridhawansyah, had never placed in the top three, finishing fifth each time.
Yet in this race, Mandoge managed to defeat top favorites like Inna Fatahna T.A from Tombo Ati Stable and Royal Blaze from Amigo Stable, who started from gate 12.
The race for the PLN Cup, with a total prize of Rp50 million, was fierce from the start. Mandoge, Inna Fatahna T.A, and Sunset Nagari led the first pack closely side by side.
Midway through, Luna Nova briefly took the lead, challenged by Inna Fatahna from the inside track. But just as the crowd caught its breath, Mandoge came charging from behind like a possessed horse, accelerating furiously in the final 200 meters before the finish line.
The colt, sired by Belantara and out of Ambalat Winning, maintained peak speed to overtake Inna Fatahna, who had to surrender the victory that seemed within reach.
A tight contest also occurred for third place, with Royal Blaze narrowly beating Valeria A.J.
Winners of Race IX – 3-Year-Old Youth Division II:
1st Place: Mandoge – East Kalimantan (Winning Stable)
2nd Place: Inna Fatahna T.A – Central Java (Tombo Ati Stable)
3rd Place: Royal Blaze – East Java (Amigo Stable)
Unlike the previous race, Race XI – 3-Year-Old Youth Division I became a showcase for Kana Eclipse’s dominance.
Competing for the JHL Cup, the 3-year-old red filly (151.7 cm) from Eclipse Stable was simply unstoppable under jockey Meikel Soleran.
The Rp80 million race featured six competitors: Kana Eclipse (Central Java), Kimberly (East Java), Red Ricee KC (North Sumatra), P. Putri Borneo (South Kalimantan), Shangrila (East Java), and Rajadewi (West Java).
Kana Eclipse led from the start, setting the pace at the front while P. Putri Borneo and Kimberly followed in third and fourth positions.
Shangrila tried to challenge from the outside and nearly caught up, but lost momentum on the final corner.
Sired by Minahasa Eclipse and out of Katty Eclipse, Kana Eclipse maintained a strong lead on the inside track. Her speed increased further as Meikel Soleran used the whip lightly, pushing her even farther ahead.
The combination of a top-quality horse and an experienced jockey secured Kana Eclipse’s victory with a wide margin at the finish line.
1st Place: Kana Eclipse – Central Java (Eclipse Stable)
2nd Place: Shangrila – East Java (Amigo Stable)
3rd Place: P. Putri Borneo – South Kalimantan (BHM Stable)
