SARGA.CO – A thrilling display from a come-from-behind runner stole the spotlight in the main event of Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) Piala Raja Hamengku Buwono (HB) X 2025, held at Bantul Horse Racing Field, Yogyakarta, on Sunday, November 9, 2025.
Starting from the second pack, War Kudeta managed to overtake the long-dominant Dominator, who had led the race from the start.
Contending for the Arsari Tambang Cup with a total prize of Rp 100 million, this prestigious race featured seven champion horses: Dominator, War Kudeta, Dewa United, Azarya Eclipse, King Nagura, Agatha Star, and Red Sea.
The Rp 100 million race began with a flawless start by Dominator, who immediately took the lead, closely followed by Azarya Eclipse.
Formerly known as King Talago, Dominator maintained his lead for several hundred meters before facing pressure from War Kudeta.
With a composed rhythm, Dominator continued to defend his front position while the chasing pack remained tight behind him.
Tension escalated when War Kudeta, ridden by Jimmy Runtu, began to surge forward. The horse, bred from Dynamor Kid and Indah Sumbar, displayed a powerful burst of speed after a single whip strike — quickly closing in on Dominator.
At the same time, Dewa United advanced into third place, adding pressure to the leaders, while Azarya Eclipse began to fade from contention.
In the final straight, War Kudeta unleashed an impressive finishing kick to overtake Dominator, securing victory dramatically.
