Race 7 featured the 3-Year-Old Junior Class – 1,200m, contested by seven horses, with the prestigious Sarga Cup and a total prize of Rp40 million at stake.
Among the participants were Fiona of Khalim, Red Minister, and Bless Arion from West Java; Inna Fatahna from Central Java; Titian Monaco from West Sumatra; Diva Istana from East Java; and Trudi from North Sumatra.
This class, reserved for young horses, is seen as a showcase for Indonesia’s next generation of champions.
One of the main attractions was Fiona of Khalim from West Java, starting from Gate 3, who had shown strong performances in previous races. She faced tough competition from Inna Fatahna T.A of Central Java, starting from Gate 4, considered one of the brightest prospects of the 2025 season.
The race was intense from the start. Four horses – Fiona of Khalim, Inna Fatahna T.A, Red Minister, and Diva Istana – pushed to the front pack. At the first turn, Red Minister led, followed by Diva Istana, Fiona of Khalim, and Inna Fatahna close behind.
The decisive moment came in the final few hundred meters. The front pack narrowed to a duel between Fiona of Khalim and Inna Fatahna, battling head-to-head with barely half a length separating them.
Meanwhile, Red Minister and Diva Istana fought hard for third place.
At the 600-meter mark, the duel reached its peak. Jockey Genta T. Dinata urged Fiona of Khalim forward, while Agus Setiono pushed Inna Fatahna to close the gap. Both jockeys went for the whip in the final stretch, but Fiona’s speed and endurance carried her across the line first in the 3-Year-Old Junior Class – 1,200m.
