SARGA.CO – In addition to the historic moment of King Argentine clinching the Triple Crown title, Indonesia Horse Racing (IHR) - Indonesia Derby 2025 held at Sultan Agung Horse Racing Track, Bantul, DI Yogyakarta, on Sunday, 27 July 2025, also delivered several surprises with the emergence of promising future star horses.
One of them appeared in the main class of the IHR-Indonesia Derby 2025, competing for the Toyota Cup, with a total prize of Rp150 million.
Race 15 of the 18 classes contested at the IHR-Indonesia Derby 2025 proved that age and experience play a crucial role in horse racing — a strength demonstrated by Caraxes Nagari from North Sulawesi.
With 12 horses competing, the 3-Year-Old Juvenile Class covering a distance of 1,600 meters featured several horses that had previously reached the podium in their last three championships.
Among the winning horses were Kamaka Eclipse, Lucynero, P Putra Barbara, Esperanse Tonsea, Maesa Dewi, Dobhan Prasasti, MS Queen, and Wulan Nuangan.
Unsurprisingly, the presence of these podium finishers made the race fierce right from the opening of the starting gate.
Maesa Dewi, Kamaka Eclipse, and Unexpected Boy made perfect starts, leading the race as front-runners immediately after the race bell sounded.
Kamaka Eclipse, representing Central Java, even managed to create a wide gap between her and the other front-runners, which began to include new contenders Wulan Nuangan and Expected Boy.
Approaching the final turn, Kamaka Eclipse's position started to be overtaken by Wulan Nuangan, who managed to sneak past from the inner track.
The surprise came at the final turn when Caraxes Nagari had silently been trailing the front runners. Successfully pulling away from the two horses ahead, the 156 cm tall filly, born from Moshe and Mahardika Jr, took advantage of the outer track to accelerate.
This strategy proved successful in bringing Caraxes Nagari to the lead about 100 meters before the finish line.
With a significant margin, Caraxes Nagari, representing Djon's Stable, crossed the finish line more than a horse’s length ahead of her competitors, Wulan Nuangan and Kamaka Eclipse.
Here are the results of the 3-Year-Old Juvenile Class – 1600 M (Toyota Cup, total prize Rp150 million):
