SARGA.CO – Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) Cup II 2025 began showcasing its premier races—each with tens of millions of rupiah in prizes—at the Kubu Gadang Horse Racing Arena, Payakumbuh, West Sumatra, on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
One of the exciting competitions was seen in the 3-Year-Old Junior Candidate Race X, Division I, which featured four horses from West Sumatra and one from West Java.
The race was contested for the Arsari Tambang Cup, which offered a total prize of Rp70 million.
The race, which began at around 2:00 PM WIB (Western Indonesian Time), featured several top horses, including Saga Serumpun, Historia Guti, and Volcanic.
The race was intense from the start. As soon as the gate opened, Historia Guti, the top horse, immediately took the lead, followed by Saga Serumpun, Volcanic, and Freya Queen.
Jockey Rudi Rahmat, who competed in Race X with Volcanic, is known for having won third place in the championship held two months earlier.
Two horses, Historia and Saga Serumpun, managed to break away from the pack and take the lead. The two horses engaged in a fierce side-by-side duel for the lead, leaving the other competitors behind.
With 200 meters to the finish line, Historia briefly took the lead, leaving Saga Serumpun behind. However, the lead was short-lived.
Saga Serumpun, charging from the outside of the track, increased his speed towards the finish line. The 3-year-old, 156 cm tall red stallion began to overtake Historia Guti, who was trying to maintain his lead. Sara Serumpun, ridden by jockey Hermansyah and trained by Rki Ade Saputra, ultimately emerged victorious.
Here is the complete list of winners of Race X, Class 3-Year-Old Junior Candidate Division I - 1,200 M.
First Place: Saga Serumpun from Payakumbuh, from Serumpun Group Stable
Second Place: Historia Guti from Bukittinggi, from Guti Stable
Third Place: Freya Queen from West Java, from Aragon Stable
In the eleventh race, Raja Bhayangkara's formidable strength was unmatched by the other seven horses. Leading from the start, the 3-year-old stallion, standing 160.2 cm tall, emerged victorious, taking home the Le Mineral Cup, which carries a total prize of Rp65 million.
Despite leading the race to the finish, Raja Bhayangkara had to fight hard to break away from the group of horses that moved almost simultaneously when the starting gate opened. However, it didn't take long for the Winoto Stable horse to surge ahead alone.
The competition was for second and third place. Ratu Sumintek and Satria Jati battled hard to secure the runner-up spot in their class.
In that group, Satria Jati, with his middle track, emerged from the pressure and took second place. Ratu Sumintek, ridden by Hendri of Kinara Stable, followed closely behind.
The winners of Race XI, Class 3-Year-Old Derby Candidate Division II - 1,400 M, are as follows:
First Place: Raja Bhayangkara from Central Java, from Winoto Stable
