SARGA.CO – After wrapping up the first three draft-bogie races, the Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) Cup II 2025 moved on to its main horse-racing events featuring top contenders from across the country.
One of the early highlights took place at the Kubu Gadang Racecourse, Payakumbuh, West Sumatra, on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
The competition opened with the Extra Class 600-meter race for the Pertamina Cup, carrying a total purse of IDR 10 million.
Four horses lined up, including one ridden by female jockey Najla, dressed in a striking red outfit and cap. Najla rode Sir Aloy—formerly named Berlin Star—a 5-year-old chestnut stallion standing 157.5 cm, from Shakira Hijab Stable, sired by Our People out of Gadis Berlin.
Sir Aloy is a red stallion from the Shakira Hijab stable, a cross between Our People and Berlin Girl.
The other three participants are Bunga Warna from Afforia Stable, Princess Xena owned by Leysa, Lionel, and Lyora, and Warna Sari owned by Gery from Bukittinggi, West Sumatra.
Race V of the 2025 IHR Cup II became tense after Sir Aloy bucked when being introduced to starting gate number 3. The 5-year-old horse even ran out of the gate. With great effort and skill, the IHR Cup II 2025 stewards finally managed to guide Sir Aloy to gate number 3.
Once all the horses were ready to race, the fierce competition was immediately felt as soon as the starting gate opened. Sir Aloy, with jockey Najla, made a perfect start, leading the pack. Sir Aloy's pace was overshadowed by Warna Sari and Princess Xena in third.
The competition intensified as Sir Aloy had to match Warna Sari's strength and speed. The two horses even battled side-by-side for the lead with 200 meters to the finish line.
The pressure mounted as Sir Aloy and Warna Sari ran side-by-side, approaching the final 200 meters. Despite Najla’s determined urging, Warna Sari’s late speed proved unstoppable, overtaking Sir Aloy about 100 meters from the wire to claim first place and the Pertamina Cup.
