SARGA.CO – The heat is rising as the countdown begins for the IHR Indonesia Derby 2025, set to take place at Sultan Agung Racecourse (SSA) in Bantul on July 27. The official qualifying draw has been announced, and all eyes are now fixed on one name: King Argentine.
The star of King Halim Stable, King Argentine, is now just one step away from making history as the winner of the 2025 Triple Crown—the most prestigious title in Indonesian horse racing. The 3-Year-Old Derby Class, with a distance of 2,000 meters, will be the centerpiece of this monumental event, not only for the glory but also for the hefty prize purse of Rp300 million.
The draw placed King Argentine in a group of ten strong contenders, including:
Manik Siwa, Rome Berjaya (formerly Vhagar Nagari), Black Sky, Merlin Gray, Kancil Mas T.A, Agatha Star, Surya Wiskia, Romantic Spartan, and Padagi NSL (formerly Duke Tonsea).
But what’s grabbing headlines is this: top rivals such as Wonder Land, Sidney All Star, and Naura Ayu—often touted as King Argentine’s biggest threats—have all landed in a different group.
They’ll be up against each other in what’s already being called a “Group of Fire,” alongside Princess Gavi, Equinox, Centauri, Spektra Davinci, Ross Audia, Griffin, Satrya Ardiaa, Kashmir Pararaja, and Lamaru Wining.
The qualifying heats will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM WIB at SSA Bantul, Yogyakarta. These heats will be decisive, determining who advances to the final, and who will see their dreams dashed early.
Can King Argentine continue his dominant streak and complete the Triple Crown dream?
Or will a stunning upset rock the legendary track at SSA?
The thunder of hooves and the roar of the crowd will soon reveal the answer. This could be the race that defines a generation—and a moment in racing history that comes only once in a decade.
