SARGA.CO — The roar of the crowd at Sultan Agung Horse Racing Track, Bantul, Yogyakarta, erupted in an instant. In the blink of an eye, Dragon, the stallion from Bintang Madura Stable, overtook his rival at the final stretch, stealing what seemed to be a sure victory from Kamaka Eclipse.
The dramatic moment unfolded in Race XI, Class C Sprint (1,100 meters) at Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) National Championship – PORDASI Series II 2025, on Sunday, October 19, 2025. Featuring 12 horses from across the country, the race delivered a breathtaking showdown filled with suspense and last-second surprises.
From the moment the starting gate opened, Kamaka Eclipse looked unbeatable. The 4-year-old chestnut stallion, standing 155.3 cm tall and representing Eclipse Stable (Central Java), took the lead with a flawless start.
Shadowed by P. Hajar and Chel’Leng Manis from Suramadu Stable, Kamaka Eclipse seemed comfortable at the front, even widening the gap before the first turn.
On the inside lane, Gegana Maja briefly captured third position, while Orion Marapi from West Sumatra began pressing from the outside. The front pack heated up quickly — but all eyes started shifting toward a horse charging from the back: Dragon.
Initially far from the leaders, Dragon — a mature, powerful stallion standing 156 cm tall — began overtaking one opponent after another. His vast experience on the track told him precisely when to hold back and when to unleash.
Entering the final 200 meters, Dragon surged from the outer lane, as if saving all his strength for this decisive moment. The crowd stood to their feet. The duel was set: Dragon vs. Kamaka Eclipse.
In the final 100 meters, the two stallions raced side by side — whips flying, hooves pounding in rhythm. Kamaka Eclipse, dominant since the start, began to tire, while Dragon only grew stronger. With one last burst, Dragon shot past his rival just before the finish line. One second. One stride. One glorious victory for Bintang Madura Stable.
Double Podium Drama for Third Place
The fight for third was no less thrilling. Two horses — MS Queen (Miranda Stable, North Sulawesi) and Unexpected Boy (DEZ Stable, West Java) — crossed the line simultaneously, forcing the judges to declare a shared third-place finish.
