SARGA.CO – Tension rose at the Sultan Agung Horse Racing Track as Race VII Class C Sprint – 1,100 meters began. This battle of the eight top horses became one of the most dramatic races in the 2025 Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) Piala Raja Hamengku Buwono X.
Despite being a strong favorite from the start, Dragon of Bintang Madura Stable did not secure the win easily. This mid-distance sprint delivered tight competition from the moment the starting gates opened.
As soon as the gates opened, all horses sprinted in a tight formation. The front pack quickly took shape as Dragon and Alea MD fought fiercely for the lead.
For a moment, Alea MD looked capable of applying full pressure, but Dragon maintained his rhythm. Canterella 42 also tried to disrupt Dragon’s position, though that duel did not last long.
The peak of the drama came as the race entered the last 100 meters. Three horses emerged as strong contenders: Dragon, Wulan Nuangan, and Citra Berjaya. Wulan Nuangan, who underwent an unexpected jockey change before the race, performed impressively and stuck close to Dragon on the outside.
At the same time, Citra Berjaya—who also experienced a last-minute jockey change—suddenly overtook P. Hajar and surged toward the front pack. The track turned into a three-way duel in a matter of seconds.
But with a strong-finisher style, Dragon unleashed his best speed in the final 50 meters. His strides grew longer, steadier, and increasingly untouchable. Despite fierce pressure from Citra Berjaya and Wulan Nuangan, Dragon held his advantage.
The margin was extremely thin—only a few strides—but enough to secure Dragon’s place on the top podium.
