SARGA.CO – The fierce competition at the Indonesia Derby 2025 isn’t limited to the main event. In the 2-Year-Old Novice Class C/D (1,200 meters), the young bloods came out swinging in two high-stakes heats. Though early in their careers, these horses proved they’re not to be underestimated. A total of 12 horses secured tickets to the final—six from each heat.
The first heat brought together top-notch horses from across the archipelago. Kana Eclipse from Eclipse Stable (Central Java) delivered a consistent performance as the favorite. But the presence of Shangrila (Amigo Stable – East Java) and Victoria of Khalim (King Halim Stable – West Java) added intensity to the race.
Red Marapi from West Sumatra also made a bold statement. With the tenacity of a mountain horse, it fought neck-and-neck with Facco Cintya (Jakarta) and Chandraleka (Yogyakarta), both of whom exploded with power down the straightaway.
The second heat was a full-throttle showdown. Ten young horses charged into a highly competitive race. This is where names like Red Ricee KC (North Sumatra) and Shogun Eclipse (Central Java) showed remarkable promise.
Geneva Allstar from Allstar Stable (North Sumatra) demonstrated razor-sharp speed, trailed closely by Fiona of Khalim (King Halim – West Java) and the aggressive Volcanic (West Sumatra), who set the pace from the start.
Don't overlook the surprise performers—Kaula Anom, Palito Minang, and Highway—who stirred up the field mid-race. Horses from West Java, West Sumatra, and South Kalimantan clashed with tactics and stamina, all chasing a spot in the final.
Looking Ahead: Who Will Take the Crown?
The upcoming final in Novice Class C/D promises to be tight and explosive. Many of these two-year-olds have already demonstrated fierce competitiveness, a strong indication that Indonesia's racehorse breeding is in excellent health.
Will Eclipse Stable dominate once again through Kana and Shogun? Or will an upset come from King Halim Stable or the solid lineup from West Sumatra? One thing is certain—the final will be a race to remember.
