SARGA.CO – The final two additional class races of the Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) Pordasi 59th National Championship Series II 2025 brought thrilling drama and excitement to the crowd at Sultan Agung Horse Racing Track, Bantul, Yogyakarta, on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
Fierce duels for the leading position combined with smart strategies and the horses’ raw power defined Race VII (3-Year-Old Derby Div. I – 1,400 meters) and Race VIII (3-Year-Old & Above THB LN – 1,400 meters).
Race VII featured eight horses representing six regional Pordasi branches. Several well-known contenders competed for the Le Minerale Cup with a total prize of Rp40 million, including Nara Eclipse, Suntori Nagari, Cassius Warrior, Mayo, and Tokugawa Eclipse.
The tension began right after the gates opened. Mayo from Miranda Stable immediately took the lead, closely followed by Nara Eclipse from Central Java (Jateng).
Trailing behind was a pack led by P Bintang Sakti and Tokugawa Eclipse.
As the race progressed to the 1,400-meter mark, the duel between Mayo and Nara Eclipse grew increasingly intense, with Suntori Nagari attempting to surge ahead from the inner track.
Meanwhile, Cassius Warrior from Amigo Stable began to show his power, joining the battle among the front runners. At the 400-meter mark, Mayo and Cassius Warrior were neck and neck in a fierce side-by-side contest.
Then came a surprise—Tokugawa Eclipse charged forward from the outside lane, quickly closing in on the leaders. In the final stretch, Tokugawa challenged Mayo, who had been leading since the start.
Despite the pressure, Mayo managed to maintain her speed and crossed the finish line first, just a hair’s breadth ahead of Tokugawa Eclipse, followed by Suntori Nagari in third place.
1st Place: Mayo – North Sulawesi, Miranda Stable
2nd Place: Tokugawa Eclipse – Central Java, Eclipse Stable
3rd Place: Suntori Nagari – North Sulawesi, Bendang Stable
An equally dramatic moment came in Race VIII: 3-Year-Old & Above THB LN – 1,400 meters, which featured only three participants but delivered a breathtaking contest for the Sarga Cup with a total prize of Rp20 million.
This class, reserved for foreign-bred thoroughbreds, featured P Galuh Banjar, a debutant in IHR racing. Owned by Sheila Putri Mahardika, this chestnut colt, sired by Real Impact out of Rose of Pania, is a three-year-old making his first national appearance.
From the start, Cronos Eclipse of Eclipse Stable, a four-year-old chestnut stallion, led the pack, followed closely by newcomer P Galuh Banjar.
Meanwhile, Highland Reel Jr attempted a tactical move from the inner track early in the race.
Despite being a newcomer, P Galuh Banjar briefly took the lead, showing surprising strength before being pursued by Highland Reel Jr in second place.
At that point, Cronos Eclipse, seemingly lagging in the middle track, was actually preparing his move. His jockey, Heski Paendong, appeared to bide his time, letting the front runners expend their energy before making a late surge.
With 200 meters to go, Cronos Eclipse accelerated sharply, overtaking Highland Reel Jr to move into second place. As the other jockeys began to whip their mounts, Cronos Eclipse displayed remarkable power and composure.
After overtaking Highland Rell Jr., the horse, a cross between Inns of Court and Taqneyya, engaged in a side-by-side duel with P. Galuh Banjar.
Cronos Eclipse put on a brilliant performance as he secured first place, leaving his two rivals a considerable distance behind.
1st Place: Cronos Eclipse – Central Java, Eclipse Stable
2nd Place: P Galuh Banjar – South Kalimantan, BHM Stable
3rd Place: Highland Reel Jr – Central Java, Janendra Stable
